Summer is just around the corner, and while some students will enroll in summer courses and others will be enjoying the sand and surf, Riverside City College student and United States Army Specialist Christian Knowlton will be on his way to Iraq. Operation Iraqi Freedom has been a subject of controversy since it began in March 2003.

Same-sex marriage ban is overturned in California

The California Supreme Court recently overturned a ban on same-sex marriage in a close 4-3 decision. The decision was the result of 23 same-sex couples suing the state of California in March 2004 to make their marriages legal. They were all being represented by Jennifer Pizer of Lambda Legal, the nation's leading legal advocate for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights movement.

Within one mile of campus is an urban wilderness where one can walk, run and ride. The trail provides an ever changing back drop for exercise or study.

Spring wrap up: baseball, track and field

Baseball The Riverside City College Tigers were eliminated from playoff contention on May 25 in a game against the Sierra College Wolverines. The 6-1 win over the Tigers advances the Wolverines to the state championship and officially puts an end to the Tigers' season.
